Seeking Alternatives For the Environment.

S.A.F.E. is dedicated to working with citizens, environmental groups, and community leaders to educate the public on the adverse health effects of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and other petro-chemical agents in common use today.

S.A.F.E. originated in 1994 in Buffalo and is instrumental in creating and implementing successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.  These programs utilize regular monitoring and record keeping to determine if and when treatments are needed.  IPM employs organic and/or the least toxic strategies to keep pest numbers low enough to prevent unacceptable damage or annoyance.

Special attention needs to be paid to the links between health and pyrethroid pesticides.

While CT S.A.F.E. cannot guarantee the quality of landscape services and providers which we list, we have been assured of their commitment to IPM and natural, organic and least toxic techniques.

We have formed a Pesticide Free Zone (PFZ) Advisory Board which helps residents to find and qualify contractors who practice IPM for all their landscaping and pest needs.  If you  know of other contractors who support this pledge, we would welcome your referrals, As our list grows we will notify you of additional changes.  We offer the following contractors.
